Too Faced loves Ulta Enchanted Nail Collection

So I saw this at Ulta for $10 and it looked intriguing...
So I got it!

Four sparkly/foily colors and a bottle of top coat.

I LOVED this set so much! The colors are (from left to right) Sugar Cookie, Spice Drop, Peppermint Bark, Sugar Plum, and topcoat.

Sugar Cookie is INSANE. I expected it to be sheer, and it was. My photos are all three coats, and there is still definitely VNL. This is a sheer white with gold shimmer. But the gold shimmer flashes from gold to yellow-green to yellow to silver. At times you can even see a little blue. Check out these photos:

And now for the rest of the collection...
Spice Drop, which reminds me of a pink version of Zoya Crystal. I guess you could describe this as a rosy metallic with gold sparkles.
003

Peppermint Bark. Slightly less pink than Spice Drop. More peachy. Same gold sparkles.
007

Sugar Plum. Same as the other two, but light purple. The sparkles in this one is a little more silver and less gold.

In all, I LOVED this collection! Bad ass for only $10!

And now for your standard ending...

Orlys and Ultas and China Glazes, oh my

So, this is the last of the stuff I got last week. I'm on a no buy til May. MAY!!! Hehe. I need to use what I have, though, and not end up on A&E's Hoarders, so it's just as well.

I have 3 Ultas, 3 Orlys, and 3 China Glazes to show you. Let's start with the crappiest ones -- the Ultas.

So, a couple of weeks ago, Ulta had this deal where if you spent $17.50, you got a bag o' their makeup for free. I'd never used Ulta's brand makeup before, and finding $17.50 worth of stuff to get wasn't that hard, so, you know, score. Note: I am not a fan of Ulta's makeup. Srsly. Oh well, it was free. Anyway, I ordered one nail polish and two polishes came in the free bag o' makeup. The one I actually paid for was pretty cool. The two free ones were NOT.

This is what I bought -- After Party. It's silver and red glitter in a clear base. This was... 3 or 4 coats. I'd probably layer this over a red if I were actually wearing it and not just swatching it, but this is all by its lonesome.

The two free polishes I got were Sunny Romance of St. Tropez, a shimmery yellow, and Something Blue, a shimmery medium blue.

These were both pretty sheer, and sort of hard to use. Look at this brush! It's miniscule!

And this is FIVE COATS. And I don't even like yellow. But I didn't have a shimmery yellow, so, you know, welcome to the collection.
075

This is Something Blue. It's ok. Pretty enough. I don't hate it. I'll probably never wear it again. At least it was free. This was, I believe, 3 coats.

So, basically, the Ultas get a big ol' "meh" from me.

On to the Orlys!
So I got two of the Foil FX polishes and the only one of the Sweets collection that blew my skirt up (at the time... I am now sort of lemming a couple more of the sweets, but we'll see how I feel in May).

I love the Foil FX! It's so shiny-shiny and pretty!
This is Shine.

And this is Rage, which I loved way more than I thought I was gonna! It's Rose Gold and/or Bronze depending on your definition.
103

And this is Snowcone! I don't have another blue like this. I really like it! This is one coat...
117

ON TO THE CHINA GLAZES!!!
So I picked up Metallic Muse, because I didn't own a green chrome and also because I wanted to use it for Konad. I swatched it anyway. ;) The bubbles are awful.

I also picked up another of the OMG collection - QT. It's awesome! Dark pink holo!

ANNNNND... I got Grape Pop from the Up and Away collection. At first I was really wanting some of the pastels in that collection, but when it came time to order I talked myself out of it. Grape Pop is a really nice "royal" purple creme. I also don't own another color quite like this -- my darker purples are all shimmers. :)

SO... what now? I think tonight I'm going to pull out all my greens and try to do a green a day til St. Patrick's Day. I'm pretty sure I own 17 greens. If not, I'll see what I can do about having a different green-themed mani every day til St Pat's.

Orphans

Huzzah! I got nail polish remover around noon today. Swatched ALMOST everything I wanted to. I'm going to crank out one post here before I go home!

These three polishes are just... random. I don't own any others of the brand, so I guess this is my orphaned polish post. :)

First up is Ulta Professional in Uptown Girl. We don't have an Ulta in the town where I live. We are about an hour or so from the closest one and, honestly, I'm way too lazy to drive an hour just to get Ulta nail polish. I guess I could order it online, but it's not THAT great. I do, however, always try to go to Ulta when I'm visiting a city that has one. So that's how I've ended up with just one Ulta polish.

This one is a smoky purple. The boyfriend says it reminds him of "mocha or chocolate or something." I don't detect any brown tones in this, but I get what he means -- there is a creamy feeling to this. I like it! The formula and brush are decent and it's opaque in two coats.
003

Next is this crap I picked up at Rite Aid many months back. It's a layered polish called "Lay it on me," and used to be bright glittery pink on top of black on top of neon purple. You aren't supposed to shake it and mess up the layers but, uh, this bottle has taken a couple tumbles off of a shelf so the top two layers are nice and mixed up.
004

However, you know what you get when you mix black with other colors? That's right... BLACK. When and if I ever buy another layered polish, it won't have black in it. This is the result of it. Sort of dark brown with some glitter:
008

And here we have the most disappointing nail polish I ever spent $9 on. I realize that $9 is pretty mid-range as far as polish goes, but it's a little steep for me. I'm probably never going to spend $20+ on Chanel polish. I buy more for color than for brand, and I've never seen a Chanel color that spoke to me enough to shell out that kinda dough. I read the color description on Sephora's website and thought, "This color will be AWESOME!" Black with multi-color glitter? Hells yeah!
So, this is Never Enough Shoes, which I think is a universally disappointing nail color. The color is ok. Needs more sparkle. For $9, they really could have put a better brush in the bottle. And the formula was sort of thin and watery. Ick.
Here's the bottle.. see the beautiful sparkle?
014

Here's the product on my nails. Notice the lack of sparkle?
009

So, I never again bought another Sephora by OPI polish.
